DIY : How to make a Heart shaped Gift box/ Jewelry box

DIY Heart shaped Gift box/ Jewelry box
 

This time I'm gonna share an easy to make gift  box/jewelry box idea that you'll love for sure.

This can be used as a jewelry box or as a small gift box . Sure your loved ones will be surprised if you give them a gift in a customized handmade box like this ..😉

OK let's get started ! 

First you need to decide the size of your gift box , and mine is about 4.75" tall and 4" width .. Draw a heart in the size that your jewelry or gift fit in safe.

 1. First, Draw the heart in a cardboard and cut it out. I'm making a  pink one. 😌

2. cut two strips of cardboard about 2" width.. each strip should  be long enough as the half of outline of the heart.

3. Now using pieces of tape, paste the first cardboard strip on the outline of the heart as shown in pictures.

 
 4. Take the other cardboard strip and paste it to the other half of the heart with tape. simple😎

Here you have to start with taping the cardboard strip to the other strip first.

Then continue to tape it to the outline till it meet the edge of other strip. tape that edge also.










5. Recover with foam 
 

I used "tape foam sheet" to cover the the box. You can also use normal foam and use hot glue to paste it.

 first you need to cut strips from the foam to cover the cardboard strips, and then a heart shape to cover the bottom of the box.

 Place the this on the top of the foam and draw the outline of it to cut out the heart shape.

 Paste it to the bottom of  the box.

 Simply cut out the edges if needed. And that's the base of the box


6. Make the cover of the box with the same steps. But this time the width of  two strips you're using should be less..I cut it in 1" width.

  First draw and cut another heart out of cardboard, using outline of the base.

Two strips should be about 1" width (about half less than the width we used in making the base.)

 cover it same as the base, using  foam sheet.


Almost done. !.



7. Decorate your gift box/jewelry box. 👍

 Take a ribbon that matches to the box color. 


 
 

First paste the edge of the ribbon inside of the cover as shown in the picture. I used hot glue.

And now place the ribbon across the heart and paste it inside the cover as shown in the picture. (Sorry if the picture isn't clear enough.😔) 

 I made this tiny bow knot just using two pieces of ribbon and hot glue. 

And finally attach the bow knot to the ribbon on the box.

Now you're done making a cute heart shaped jewelry box/ gift box.

of course you can make it more beautiful by decorating it in different ways. And use this for multi-purpose by making it in different sizes.. Please comment and share your ideas and show others your handmade gift box here.
